The European Erasmus + project entitled “New Dimensions of Education” is a project that started in 2018 and due to the pandemic, it ended with the last in-person meeting in Greece.

The program promotes interdisciplinary approaches and integrates the teaching of basic skills (Mathematics, Science and Writing / Reading). Thus, the participants collaborated in the exchange and development of teaching methods and tools, in line with modern knowledge such as courses based on ICT and STEM

The participating schools of the program are:

  1. Siauliai University Gymnasium – Lithuania
  2. Mehmet Akif Ersoy Ortaokulu – Turkey
  3. Esperino Gymnasio – Lykeio Trikalon – Greece
  4. SOU Gimnazija “Goce Delcev” – North Macedonia
  5. Scoala Gimnaziala Sfantul Apostol Andrei – Romania
  6. Agrupamento de Escolas Eduardo Gageiro – Portugal

The last meeting took place in Greece from 23/08/2021 to 27/08/2021, strictly abiding by all the health rules.

All the partners of the program were hosted by the Greek organization (Evening High School – Lyceum of Trikala) and participated in the activities, except for the Turkish school which it participated virtually.

The educational activities included many topics in which all the teachers participated with great interest. The workshop on how to create STEAM courses, was framed with good practices so that the undiminished interest of the participants remains from the beginning to the end.

All the works created by Students / Teachers during the project were exhibited in the school yard. The exhibition was visited by teachers, students, school graduates, as well as out-of-school people.

The presentation of the work by a school colleague on “Teaching empathy: Turning a lesson plan into a life skill” left great impressions.

The participants dealt extensively with the effects of the project, where the host presented a detailed study of the evaluation of the project by the teachers. The usefulness of the program after its completion was discussed and plans were drawn up for its dissemination. Finally, everyone was willing to continue the project by submitting an upgraded proposal in the new announcement.

A delegation of partners visited the Director of Secondary Education of Trikala and in a very hospitable environment they were informed about the educational system and the educational activities of the Directorate.

The hospitality of the partners also included cultural visits at Meteora, Mountainous Areas, the city of Trikala, Volos and Pelion.

According to the general admission of all those involved, the meeting in Greece was crowned with success. Everyone enjoyed the activities of the program and the beauties of Thessaly.
